One of Beyoncé's Met Gala outfits is described as a "Homage to Diana Ross" by her Stylist

Beyoncé and her stylist Ty Hunter have been working together for years, and the two have created some of her most iconic looks over the course of her career.

In an interview with the fashion guru on Thursday, she discussed one of them, her eye-catching beaded black dress and veil combo worn at the 2014 Met Gala

She revealed that a certain soul music icon had actually been the inspiration behind it.

Hunter began by explaining how Riccardo Tisci designed the Givenchy outfit for the gala's "Charles James: Beyond Fashion" theme that year.

"There aren't too many people who can make the sketch come to life and appear exactly the same as the photo."

The celebrity stylist then revealed that he, Bey, and Tisci attempted to mimic the essence of The Supremes' queen leader with the gown.

The vocalist of "Break My Soul" wrote the foreword to Hunter's recently published memoir, Makeover From Within: Lessons in Hardship, Acceptance, and Self-Discovery.
